ABOUT

JAKE CHIDESTER

OWNER

Jake’s first spoken word was “truck”, so to say that he has always loved trucking would not be an exaggeration. Over the years, Jake’s interest in big rigs grew steadily. He is a third generation truck driver and entrepreneur. Both of his grandfathers were truckers and two of his uncles drove and owned trucking companies. By the time Jake was 13-years-old, he was spending summers and after-school hours working for his family by sweeping the warehouse and unloading trucks for his uncle’s trucking company. At the age of 16, Jake began making local deliveries in a pickup truck throughout his hometown of Salt Lake City, Utah. Jake received his Commercial Driver’s License when he was 18-years-old and relocated to Nacogdoches, Texas soon after to begin a dispatching job with Soil Fertility of Texas. He eventually decided to go back on the road pulling a flatbed trailer in order to support his growing family. Jake’s lifelong dream of owning his own trucking company came to fruition when he purchased a pickup truck and gooseneck trailer and began hauling “hotshot” loads throughout Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Louisiana.

Jake has logged nearly 2 million miles using several different types of trailers, including flatbeds, step-decks, multi-axle RGNs and steerable trailers. He discovered that his favorite loads to haul were oversized and overweight. He enjoys the thrill and challenge. In 2010, Jake decided to take the experience and knowledge he’s gained over the years and become an independent agent operating terminals for both DD&S and NHH.

Trucking is in my blood, and diesel runs through my veins. I have spent my whole life in the transportation business, and I love it. The experience that I have had on the truck and behind the wheel has given me the opportunity to understand all facets of this business. I understand what it takes to move large loads, how to move them safely, and the many challenges a driver experiences. To many of our customers, that experience is essential.”

ABOUT

APRIL CHIDESTER

OPERATIONS MANAGER

April Chidester is the Operations Manager for Complete Heavy Haul and, as you may have guessed, Jake’s other half. She graduated in 2013 with a BBA in Accounting from Stephen F. Austin State University in their hometown of Nacogdoches, Texas. After a short 5 year career in banking, she took a break to stay home and raise her growing family. In 2016, she decided it was time to reenter the workforce. Jake persuaded her to join the family business, and she began by dispatching drivers. Without any prior knowledge of trucking this did seem like a daunting task, but she was up for the challenge. She enjoys interacting and growing relationships with the customers and the drivers. She prides herself on keeping our customers updated and instilling trust and confidence in them. “I love making our customers happy. The easiest way I can do that is by communicating with them.” She now oversees operations and is loving her new role at Complete Heavy Haul.
